Mossie
WANAKA - Mossie, 8 year old, desexed & vaccinated female Flemish/Angora Cross
Mossie is an absolutely lovely, gentle rabbit that has lived with us for the last eight years, as a free range toilet trained indoor bun that doesn't have an enclosure. She loves to sleep, scoff cranberry and thyme burgess pellets, timothy hay, and hanging out on the couch or bed with with.
Mossie will visit every morning and night, jumping up on the bed and lying next to us as a bit of a ritual. She loves being petted, loves hopping on your lap on the couch or chest if you're lying down, and really is one of a kind. She also enjoys sunbathing in the lounge.
Mossie tolerates the vacuum cleaner, doesn't like hearing the shower drip, and doesn't get many fresh veges anymore as we feel they have been upsetting her tummy in her older age. She isn't a big fan of having her nails clipped but will accept being trimmed as long as she's given some pellets to enjoy in her bowl while doing so. I often pick her up, which she's very happy to have happen, which is how we'd trim her nails most of the time and trim some of those tricky to reach places.
Grooming her is probably the biggest time commitment, as she does love to grow her fur. But after trimming, you'll be treated to a lot of zoomies and binkies as she's pretty happy with short hair.
Mossie has had leaky eyes over the last year which we clean every now and then - we haven't been able to resolve that and the vet hasn't either. But other than that, she's happy and healthy and doesn't seem to be slowing down much.
The only reason we are looking for a new mum or dad for Mossie is that we are unfortunately having to move country. And admittedly, we're really uncomfortable about rehoming because Mossie is quite honestly our favourite thing in the world and we've loved every minute of the last eight years with her.
So, we're looking for someone really experienced, that can give her the love and comfort she deserves.
Mossie needs to be housed indoors because she must be kept 100% dry due to her coat. We also feel if she was suddenly put outside, she may be very stressed - but who knows.
Mossie comes with two litter trays if you want them, mats and squishy padded mats to go underneath, treats, hay, litter, and her little grooming kit which includes a tangle teaser, mutliple types of scissors, and nail clippers.
