Harvey

WELLINGTON - Harvey, Desexed, Vaccinated, 6 yr old MiniLop

Harvey is a  6 year old mini lop bachelor, with a big personality. He currently lives in Central Wellington but due to changes in our circumstances we are reluctantly trying to find him a new home. He is healthy, has been desexed, and has all his current vaccines.

We are moving overseas in April, and rehoming Harvey has been the hardest part of the whole process, as we love him dearly. He is a beautiful little bunny who deserves a forever home with people who can appreciate his quirkiness. Harvey is an old soul and can come across gruff and grumpy at times but has a lot of love to give and absolutely loves attention, bananas, and cranberries. He is quite a calm bunny and doesnt mind being picked up for cuddles, although he is more comfortable with pats on the ground/in his hutch. Harvey has been a single bun since before I got him and I have considered bonding him a few times, but have always been concerned it wasn't for him as he is a very independent little dude. We wouldn’t be against bonding him with a partner, if the right situation comes up.

A couple of years ago Harvey had stasis which he recovered from really well and we have found that he can’t eat too much grass or pellets as it makes him sick (tummy problems and runny eyes). Apart from that, he is a healthy rabbit - teeth are good, poop is healthy (if he stays on his diet), and he is good at cleaning himself. His diet consists of access to meadow hay at all times, a salad in the morning and a small bowl of pellets at night. I will include a list of what foods he prefers in his salad with him. Harvey is an outdoor bunny. We have made modifications to his free-standing hutch to make it easier for us to clean and to give him more room. He has been the healthiest in this hutch compared to one that sits on grass (we previously had this in Christchurch and he had a lot of poopy butts and neither of us enjoyed the process of bathing him!).

Harvey will come with all of the items to care for him. This includes:

  • Outdoor hutch which has been modified to give him more space. It is free standing as we found his tummy doesn’t do well with grass.

  • A couple of play pens which attach to the hutch so he can roam, while supervised.

  • Outdoor container to store his supplies (if wanted).

  • Toys: building blocks (we hide cranberries in them!), tunnel, playpen balls, etc.

  • Water bowl, as he prefers this to a bottle.

  • Container of cleaning supplies/brush/nail clippers etc.

  • Worming treatment

If you are interested and would like more information, I am happy to send some videos or you are welcome to come meet Harvey in person. You can contact Abbey either by email at abbeyrose264@gmail.com or by phone at 0275470358. Any questions are welcome, thanks!
