Ollie

AUCKLAND - Approx 1 y.o. Desexed, Vaccinated & Microchipped Male Lop

Wee Ollie's road to recovery has been a long and bumpy one. Dumped in a box with 5 other rabbits poor Ollie bore the brunt of the trauma more than most. Covered in bite wounds and absolutely terrified of everything, his progress was slow. He ended up with abscesses under all his wounds, even requiring surgery for the last stubborn one. He took it all like a champ though, never lost his appetite and even with the handling twice daily to medicate and clean his wounds he became more confident and curious as time passed. He has had the all clear now from an excellent rabbit savvy vet and is eagerly anticipating his perfect furever family.

To date, his wound has completely healed, leaving behind a small scar that isn't even visible under his lovely coat that has almost completely grown back. He's an extremely confident and happy bunny now, with lots of flops and doesn't even bat an eyelid at household comings and goings. He perks up his ears every time the fridge opens or a packet rustles - treats are for sure the way to his heart!

Ollie has had the best toileting manners from day one too - will religiously go in his litter box (and only on one half of it too). He currently also has a big container full of hay that he loves burrowing in and rearranging to his heart's content and not once has he mistaken it for his litterbox!

He does still have some trauma around other rabbits, he was absolutely petrified of the lot he came in with. Surprisingly though he has seemed pretty comfortable with my big boy when he's seen him in passing so I do believe he would thrive with the right bun companion. Any potential bunwife would need to be of a very gentle nature, placid and patient with a relaxed and carefree personality. And the bonding process would need to be taken super slowly to allow Ollie the time to grow his confidence and learn that not all bunnies mean bad experiences.

I have no doubt in the right home he will continue to thrive and be the most loyal, entertaining, and loving companion. Any potential homes will be thoroughly vetted, as after having such a rough start to life, this gorgeous boy deserves nothing but the best of homes
