Bathing Your Rabbit ... Don't Do It!!!

Rabbits are inherently clean creatures and no not need bathing. The only exception to this is if they have severe poopy butt. If this is the case then a butt bath is all that is needed - in addition to investigations into why they have poopy butt in the first place.

Sadly, there are many videos on the internet showing a rabbit lying on its back (in Tonic Immobility) ‘enjoying’ a bath. The truth of the matter is the rabbit is terrified and at risk of heart failure.

Rabbit fur is also very dense and if not 100% completely dried off the rabbit can be at risk of hypothermia after a ‘bath’. The stress cause by bathing and getting too cold may also send a rabbit into stasis.
